Strawberries & Cream Oatmeal

I eat oatmeal for breakfast 5 days a week but love switching up the flavor and what I add into my oats. I was looking to switch up my oatmeal and ran across the package of strawberries in my fridge and couldn't resist finding a way to make oatmeal refreshing and light for the spring time.

Nutritious and Delicious

I wanted to use any foods we already had in the fridge, so when I came across the strawberries in the fridge, I couldn't resist. I gathered all of my general ingredients for oatmeal: oats, liquid, a sweetener and my fruit and started mixing everything together to create this delicious and quick Strawberries & Cream Oatmeal.

Strawberries have always been one of my favorite fruits and more specifically my favorite berry! Berries are known for their countless health benefits while strawberries themselves are naturally nutrient rich; packed with essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and phytochemical. The majority of the health- promoting phytochemical in strawberries are anthocyanin, which give strawberries their bright red color. Evidence suggests that strawberries have benefits not only for keeping your heart healthy but also in relation to other health conditions, including diabetes, Parkinson's, and cognitive decline.

Adding berries to your grocery shopping list can only improve health while providing yourself and loved ones with a nutrient rich and delicious fruit! Fruits, in general, should be a regular part of a healthful diet, but berries are so special that they should be enjoyed frequently. Having them fresh when they are in season is best, but frozen and dried berries can be enjoyed as well!

Try and add berries into some of your meals whether it be cereal and oatmeal for breakfast or in a salad with lunch or dinner!
