Apple Pie Oatmeal
10 Minutes
4 Servings
Introduction
Monday through Friday I always resort to the same cooked oatmeal topped with cinnamon for breakfast. After some time, I got tired of the same oatmeal, so I wanted to try something new!
Steps
Wash, peel and chop apples into small pieces
In a medium pot, place sliced apples with a splash of water and 1 Tbsp of brown sugar. Cook on low heat until apples get soft; roughly 5 minutes.
Add the rest of the ingredients into the pot, except for the milk. Mix all ingredients together and cook on medium-high heat. Stir occasionally until it boils, roughly 3-5 minutes.
Once the mixture boils, lower the heat to medium-low. Stir constantly so the oats don't stick to the botom of the pot. Cook until it reaches your desired consistency.
Add the milk for a creamy oatmeal!
Serve and Enjoy!
How to make
McIntosh apples are easy to use in this recipe because they are typically a softer apple - meaning less time waiting for the apple to soften! Also, to speed up the process, using quick 1-minute oats!
